As a Boston Divorce Lawyer, I Help Clients Through
Difficult Times

The Law Office of Rachel L. Engdahl, PC is dedicated to serving the needs of each individual client.  We are sensitive to the emotional issues of divorce, child custody, support and other family matters.  Our attorneys work diligently to negotiate your best outcome out of court.

Divorce and family law cases can involve extensive financial issues and we are committed to achieving the best possible monetary result for our clients through our knowledge and experience.

We take great pride in our ability to obtain excellent results whether it is in the best interest of your children or a financial resolution.

How Much Child Support Will Be Required?

Child support is critical in a divorce in order to ensure the continued welfare of the children. In Massachusetts, the Child Support Guidelines are used as a starting point for determining the amount of support that should be provided.

These Guidelines, however, are not the final factor in the amount of support that will be awarded. Ultimately child support is determined by a judge (often after agreement by the divorcing spouses).

I assist clients in seeking the level of support that they believe should be required.

Boston & Wakefield Collaborative Law and Mediation

Mediation and collaborative law are methods of facilitating a resolution to litigation and divorce matters. Both of these areas are focused on the parties working together to try to each the best outcome possible for them, rather than leaving the outcome up to a judge.

Mediation and collaborative law can also benefit the parties through a quicker time frame and lower legal fees.

Boston & Wakefield Will & Trust Lawyer

In Massachusetts (and most other states), if you do not have a will or other recognized estate planning in place when you die, your assets will be divided according to state law. It does not matter how clearly you may have expressed your interests for the distribution of you estate.

I help clients clearly document their estate distribution wishes, and prepare the required legal documentation to effectuate these wishes. Clients benefit by having a sense of certainty for the final distribution of their estate, and knowing knowing that their loved ones will not face otherwise challenging issues (and potentially disputes) that might arise.

New Alimony Reform Law Called Unfair

Some individuals have issues with the Massachusetts Alimony Reform Act.  Learn more about this act and how it may affect your divorce or current order.
